Parliament approved to discuss self-government next September. The
decision counted with the backing of the three parties in the Basque

Dirty
War Against Basque Citizens Imminent

Political investigation magazine Kalegorria (Basque Country) has
reported in the court of Donostia (San Sebastian) the evidence
of plans to form a new para-military group and the plans to kill
35 Basques involved with the separatist movement.
KALEGORRIA magazine has accused in the Court and in an international
press conference, the existence of an organisation whose aim is
to kill Basque citizens. This organisation is created by the Spanish
State and, more specifically, by the Guardia Civil (military Spanish
police) and its Intelligence National Centre (before called CESID).

The Vascuence Law Declared illegal in Navarre

The High Court Of Justice of Navarre has ruled the Navarran ley
del Vasscuence (Law of Basque Language) illegal. The charges
were pressed by councillors of parties like EA-PNV, IU and Batzarre
(either leftist or Basque nationalists) and civil servants of
institutions of the area affected by this law plus the councils
of two towns (Lekunberri and Lesaka).

University
of Navarra Against the Right to Study In Basque
Friday, May 17, 2002
After two visits from the Spanish Police, they have forbidden
tent-camping in the Pubic University of Navarra.
175 people have locked themselves up in the Public University
of Navarra in favour of the right to study in Basque.
There were nearly two hundred student supporters, among them,
several parents and professors, who were concentrated in the campus.
